MARIEL ROBERTS MUSA
Order Armament now or stream from Bandcamp, Apple Music, Spotify, and others.
"Mariel's solo album fuses her cello with gritty yet somehow dazzling electronics. The album is called Armanent because, Roberts says, “We're living through times in which so much culture is being weaponized, turned into instruments of violence”. The tortured soundscape ... is somehow both a revelation of that weaponization and a catharsis." BBC Radio |
Summer tour: my new project "The Offering", with the incredible writer/poet Omar Musa will be touring through Germany and Australia this July and August 2024.
Check dates in my calendar for performance info! My album release performance from Roulette is still up- take a listen here! Featuring Brian Chase and Mario Diaz de Leon. My performance for Miller Theater's "Live from Columbia" is now up! The program, which you can view here, includes "Spinner" by George Lewis, one of my own compositions, and excerpts from the beloved sixth Cello Suite by J.S. Bach. The Library of Congress has commissioned a series of 10 new works from composers across America in The Boccaccio Project, inspired by a similar literary effort in the mid-14th century by Giovanni Boccaccio. The new work written for me by Ashkan Behzadi will premiere on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube on June 24th at 8pm, and the commission manuscripts will become part of the Library’s music collections. |
